Getting the most from your camo

  • Break up your outline. Shape and silhouette give you away before colour does. A boonie hat, scrim scarf or ghillie helps.
  • Kill the shine. Cover shiny lenses with lens protectors or killflash, and avoid bright accessories.
  • Match your kit. Solid ranger green or coyote rigs and pouches go with almost any pattern.
  • Stay still. Movement is what gets you spotted, whatever you’re wearing.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best camo for UK airsoft?

For most UK woodland sites, MTP, MultiCam and Flecktarn are hard to beat. They blend into the greens and browns of British woodland through most of the year. For summer-only woodland, M81 and MultiCam Tropic are excellent; for winter, add tan or coyote.

Is MTP good for airsoft?

Yes. MTP is one of the most versatile patterns for UK airsoft, working well in woodland, open fields and mixed sites. It’s also easy to find, from ex-military surplus to new kit, and is the obvious choice for British Army inspired loadouts.

Can I mix camo patterns?

Yes, and many players do. A common approach is a patterned shirt or trousers with solid-colour kit, such as ranger green or coyote pouches and plate carriers. Avoid mixing two busy patterns that clash in colour.

What should I wear for indoor CQB airsoft?

Camo matters less indoors. Dark solids, MultiCam Black or grey work well, and lighter clothing helps because CQB is fast and warm. Knee pads and gloves are more useful than the perfect pattern.

Do some airsoft sites have camo rules?

Some sites split teams by camo type or use armbands, and milsim events may ask for specific patterns or impressions. Check the event rules before buying a full set.
