Airsoft Clothing & Boot Size Converter
Buying airsoft clothing and boots online? Convert boot sizes between UK, EU, US and foot length, and turn your chest, waist, height and hand measurements into letter sizes, NATO-style codes and glove sizes.
How to measure yourself
- Chest: around the fullest part of your chest, under your arms, with the tape level.
- Waist: around your natural waist, where you wear your trousers, without pulling the tape tight.
- Height: standing straight, without boots.
- Hand: around your knuckles with your hand flat, thumb excluded.
- Foot: stand on paper, mark your heel and longest toe, and measure between them in millimetres. Measure in the evening, when feet are slightly bigger.

Boot tip: try boots on with the thick socks you’ll wear on game day, and size up half a size if you’re between sizes. Military-issue boots often use Mondopoint (foot length/width in mm, such as 270/100). Shop our boots and footwear.

NATO and military sizes
Military-style jackets and shirts often use NATO-style sizes: height/chest in centimetres, such as 170/96 or 180/104. Trousers usually start with the waist in centimetres, and some labels add leg length and seat measurements. Find your height and chest, then pick the size that covers both, sizing up on chest if you’ll wear layers.

Fit tips for airsoft
- Allow for kit. A plate carrier or chest rig sits over your shirt, so leave room to move your shoulders.
- Combat shirts and UBACS fit closer than field shirts, so check the chart carefully.
- Trousers with knee pads need a little extra room in the leg.
- Layer for UK weather. Size outer layers to fit over a fleece.

Frequently asked questions
How should airsoft clothing fit?
Loose enough to kneel, crawl and raise your arms without pulling, but not so baggy it snags on undergrowth. Leave room for a base layer in winter, and remember a plate carrier or chest rig sits over your shirt, so a combat shirt or UBACS that’s too tight will be uncomfortable all day.
What size are military boots?
Most boots sold in the UK use UK sizes, while many military-issue boots use Mondopoint: your foot length and width in millimetres, for example 270/100. Measure your foot length in millimetres, then use the converter above. Allow for thick boot socks, which often means going up half a size.
How do NATO clothing sizes work?
NATO-style labels on military jackets and shirts usually give height then chest in centimetres, for example 180/104 for someone about 180 cm tall with a chest of up to 104 cm. Trousers usually start with the waist in centimetres, and some add leg and seat measurements. The exact format varies by maker, so check the label guide.
How do I measure my glove size?
Wrap a tape measure around your hand at the knuckles, excluding the thumb, with your hand flat. That measurement in centimetres or inches gives your size on the glove chart. If you’re between sizes, choose the smaller size for trigger feel or the larger for warmth.
Are US and UK clothing sizes the same?
Letter sizes such as M and L are broadly similar for men’s tactical clothing, but US brands often run larger. Boots differ more: a US men’s size is usually one size bigger than the UK size for the same foot. Always check the product’s own size chart.
